Staff Software Engineer

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain cloud‑native applications and services.
• Build responsive web applications using React, JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML, and CSS.
• Develop scalable RESTful APIs and backend services using Node.js.
• Design and implement secure, reliable integrations between internal and external systems.
• Create and optimize SQL database schemas, stored procedures, indexes, and queries.
• Troubleshoot application, API, and database performance issues.
• Participate in architecture discussions and technical design reviews.
• Implement automated testing, CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps best practices.
• Monitor and improve application performance, availability, and scalability.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to engineering standards and best practices.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to deliver high‑quality solutions that meet business objectives.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering.
• 8+ years of professional software development experience.
• 5+ years developing full‑stack applications using Node.js for backend services and React for modern web applications.
• Strong proficiency in JavaScript and/or TypeScript.
• Experience building and consuming REST APIs.
• Knowledge of Kubernetes (preferred).
• Experience with Git‑based source control and modern development workflows.
• Experience working in cloud environments; Microsoft Azure preferred.
• Strong problem‑solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Experience designing normalized and high‑performance SQL database schemas.
• Proficiency writing and tuning complex SQL queries.
• Strong understanding of relational database design principles.
• Experience creating indexes, analyzing execution plans, and resolving performance bottlenecks.
• Experience with database migrations, data integrity, and backup/recovery concepts.
• Familiarity with data modeling, ETL processes, and large‑volume data handling.
• Experience supporting production databases in a cloud environment.

Pay

$136,300.00 to $181,700.00 per annum (range may vary based on experience and other factors).
