Staff Software Engineer, AI Platform (US - Remote or Calgary)

Location: Remote – US-based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available.

Lead work at the intersection of data, AI-enabled capabilities, and scalable technology delivery. You will collaborate across engineering, product, operations, and business stakeholders to translate complex requirements into practical technology solutions. Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and oversee core runtime surfaces of syndi-api
• Develop and enhance the eval system for product teams
• Ensure observability and reliability for production operations
• Review and support product teams in tool integration and design
• Define and manage compliance and legal requirements for the platform

Qualifications

• 5+ years experience in building production backend systems
• Strong expertise in Python, relational databases, and cloud infrastructure (GCP/Kubernetes)
• Experience with LLM-powered systems in production and relevant infrastructure
• Ability to operate independently and own technical domains with minimal supervision
• Exceptional written communication skills for design docs and team collaboration

Pay

$205,000 – $225,000 annually
