Staff Software Engineer - AI Platform Team

For our client, a leader in the Finance & Insurance space, we are seeking a Staff Software Engineer to join their AI Platform Team. This role focuses on work at the intersection of data, AI-enabled capabilities, and scalable technology delivery, operating within a regulated financial services environment.

About the role

You will lead initiatives that translate complex requirements into practical technology solutions, collaborating across engineering, product, operations, and business stakeholders. The position offers the opportunity to influence architecture, execution quality, and long-term technology capabilities.

Location: Remote – US-based candidates only. No visa sponsorship is available.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain a unified API that integrates over 60 AI models from multiple cloud providers
• Establish a central hub for AI agents, skills, and knowledge management
• Develop and oversee runtime environments for AI agents using microVM sandboxes
• Connect diverse data sources to create robust knowledge bases for agents
• Govern AI spending, ensuring accountability and transparency across the organization
• Implement evaluation tools for LLM performance and agent improvement
• Collaborate with teams to develop applied AI solutions with continuous feedback loops

Qualifications

• 5-7 years of experience in AI platform and infrastructure management
• Strong understanding of multi-cloud environments and generative AI technologies
• Proven ability to lead high-impact initiatives and cross-functional collaborations
• Experience with LLM gateways and agent lifecycle management
• Familiarity with FinOps practices in AI governance

Pay

$130,000 – $180,000 annually
