Staff Software Development Engineer

About the role

Delinea is looking for a Staff Software Engineer to join the team building StrongDM, the universal access management platform. You will apply deep expertise across distributed systems, security, and cloud architecture to shape the technical direction of the platform.

Responsibilities

• Lead the architecture and technical direction of highly concurrent, distributed backend systems in Go (Golang).
• Drive design decisions for the proxy data plane and control-plane services.
• Partner with architects, product managers, and SRE leadership to shape multi-quarter system roadmaps.
• Serve as a subject matter expert on secure network protocols (TLS/mTLS, credential brokering, key management).
• Mentor engineers and lead code/design reviews across teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in computer science or related field.
• 8+ years of professional experience as a software engineer with deep expertise in Go and distributed systems.
• Strong understanding of distributed systems, network protocols, and API design (gRPC/Protobuf).
• Experience with AWS or major cloud provider infrastructure at production scale.
• Proven ability to influence technical strategy and mentor engineering talent.
