About the role

CVS Health is looking for a Staff Software Development Engineer to drive technical strategy and execution within our Aetna Transactional Cache platform. This individual will help develop the next generation of this system. Working with project teams across a broad and evolving technology landscape, cloud platforms, and next-generation frameworks. This role is ideal for a team member who thrives in cross-functional environments and strategic problem solving. You will collaborate directly with business leaders, Product Managers, and Engineering teams to enable innovation, modernize platforms, and help shape outcomes and move towards our goals.

Responsibilities

• Design and deploy production-ready systems
• Develop ETL/ELT solutions
• Build enterprise/web/cloud applications on Azure/GCP
• Work with MongoDB and CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins)
• Utilize messaging systems (Apache Kafka, MQ)
• Collaborate in cross-functional environments and solve strategic problems

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in software/data product delivery
• 5+ years of experience in ETL/ELT development
• 5+ years of enterprise/web/cloud applications software development experience on Azure/GCP
• 5+ years of experience with MongoDB
• 3+ years of experience with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins)
• Experience with messaging systems (Apache Kafka, MQ)
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience (High school diploma plus 4 years relevant work experience)

Preferred Qualifications

• Strong grasp of software delivery practices and agile methodologies
• Experience in large-scale technical programs with end-to-end planning
• Proven ability to make informed decisions quickly and take ownership of services at scale

Pay

The typical pay range for this role is $106,605.00 - $213,210.00. This pay range represents the base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography, and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission, or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above. This position also includes an award target in the company’s equity award program.
