About the Role
Palo Alto Networks SASE (Secure Access Service Edge) group is looking for a seasoned and accomplished Principal SQA engineer with experience in validating core networking and security features in the SD-WAN team. You will be part of a world-class software engineering team working on groundbreaking SD-WAN technologies. You will collaborate with a multi-functional team to solve complex problems.
Office-based employees are expected to work from the office four days per week, with one day working remotely. This facilitates casual conversations, informal problem-solving, and strengthens trusted relationships.
Responsibilities
- Work in a small, fast-paced team to solve important customer problems and deliver impactful results.
- Contribute to all phases of end-to-end product and solution validation.
- Collaborate with development and quality assurance groups to achieve the best quality.
- Suggest and implement improvements to the QA process.
- Work with DevOps and Technical Support teams to troubleshoot customer issues.
Requirements
- 1+ years of relevant experience, with a BS or MS degree.
- Exposure to standard TCP/IP protocols such as ARP, IP, ICMP, TCP, UDP, and IPSec VPNs.
- Experience testing enterprise routing protocols such as BGP, OSPF, and EIGRP.
- Exposure to networking features like Multicast, IPv6, DNS, NAT, and DHCP.
- Experience with Linux platform testing on x86 architecture, components, and tools.
- Exposure to control plane and data plane architecture in networking devices.
- Experience with performance characterization of networking products.
- Experience with automation/programming using Python and REST APIs.
- Exposure to system/scale testing simulating large enterprise networks (a plus).
- Familiarity with virtualization technologies such as VMware ESXi, qemu/kvm, and Microsoft Hyper-V.
- Ability to build and maintain complex networking testbeds.
- Excellent problem-solving, debugging, and troubleshooting skills.
Pay
The compensation offered for this position will depend on qualifications, experience, and work location. For candidates who receive an offer at the posted level, the starting base salary range is $104,000.00 - $169,500.00 per year. The offered compensation may also include restricted stock units and a bonus.
