Staff Security Software Engineer, AI Security Engineering

For our client, a leader in the Enterprise Technology space, we are seeking a Staff Security Software Engineer to join their AI Security Engineering team. This role will lead work at the intersection of data, AI-enabled capabilities, and scalable technology delivery. You will collaborate across engineering, product, operations, and business stakeholders to translate complex requirements into practical technology solutions, influencing architecture, execution quality, and long-term technology capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Define the technical strategy for AI security tooling at the company
• Establish engineering standards for security tooling and oversee design review processes
• Lead the design and development of scalable AI security platform capabilities
• Develop methodologies for systematically evaluating AI systems against threats
• Act as the technical authority on AI security for multiple teams, ensuring integration of tooling into workflows
• Establish reusable AI security patterns for teams building connected systems
• Mentor engineers on architecture and best practices in AI security

Qualifications

• 7-10 years of experience in security software engineering or related field with technical leadership roles
• Expert proficiency in Python, particularly in designing and delivering scalable production systems
• Deep understanding of AI/ML security principles like adversarial ML and prompt injection
• Experience in designing cross-team security tooling architectures, focusing on structural and maintenance aspects
• Strong communication skills to align teams on architectural standards and technical decisions

Pay

$289,200 – $397,650 annually
