Responsibilities
- Operate, troubleshoot, and design complex scientific apparatus.
- Collaborate with engineers and other scientists to develop next-generation instrumentation.
- Write detailed reports and present findings to stakeholders.
- Stay up-to-date with latest developments and advancements in instrumentation.
- Handle multiple priorities in a dynamic work environment.
- Identify possible improvements in the instruments used and discuss them with others.
- Work with a team to implement identified improvements.
- Naturally strive for efficiency and complete projects fully.
- Enjoy traveling, meeting new people, training others, and learning from the experience.
- Able to quickly pick up new proficiencies on as-needed basis, such as a new simulation package.
- Conduct original research and experiments.
- Maintain laboratory equipment and ensure safety protocols.
Qualifications
- Recent Ph.D. in physics or related discipline.
- Solid communication skills.
- Willingness to travel (electron microscope operating experience is a plus).
