About the Role
The Mobile Robotics Software team is responsible for delivering solutions for storage and retrieval use cases in a fully autonomous warehouse operating hundreds of mobile robots at customer sites. This role requires excellent communication skills, the ability to collaborate in highly cross-functional environments, strong technical problem-solving skills, and a passion for tackling real-world challenges in robotics.
Responsibilities
- Own design, development, and testing of control algorithms for mobile robot’s case handling tasks—navigation and manipulation.
- Deliver robotic control software in a diverse team of roboticists and software engineers.
- Serve as a subject matter expert in sensor fusion estimation techniques and control algorithms for autonomous navigation and manipulation.
- Collaborate with cross-functional engineering and product teams on planning, design, and development of new and existing features.
- Own quality, reliability, and testability of the software codebase.
- Troubleshoot system problems in production or design by investigating issues related to product performance or production difficulties.
- Identify risks and provide solutions that lead to successful customer deliveries and improvements in system performance.
Requirements
- Master’s or PhD in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Robotics, Aerospace, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 6 years of demonstrated experience in the development of algorithms for mobile robot applications related to localization, manipulation, and navigation.
- Demonstrated ability to deliver robotics software products deployed in the real world.
- Knowledge of C++ embedded coding and design patterns suitable for real-time environments.
- Knowledge of real-time or embedded operating systems, threading, and communication issues related to real-time operating systems.
- Experience with software process and version control tools.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain or teach technical concepts to others.
Work Environment
Up to 10% travel may be required. Employees must have a valid driver’s license and the ability to drive and/or fly to client and other customer locations. The employee is responsible for owning a credit card and managing expenses personally to be reimbursed on a bi-weekly basis.
Pay
The base range for this position in the posted location is $171,350.00 - $232,500.00. Base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The compensation package includes medical, dental, vision, disability, 401K, and PTO benefits.
