The Registered Professional Nurse independently plans and provides professional nursing care to patients in accordance with physician orders, established guidelines, and the scope of practice defined by the Georgia Nurse Practice Act.

The Staff Registered Professional Nurse manages care for an assigned group of patients, reflecting Northside Hospital’s values of collaboration, communication, coordination, integration, and empowerment.

Responsibilities

• Independently plan and provide professional nursing care to patients.
• Manage care for an assigned group of patients in alignment with hospital policies and philosophy.
• Adhere to the scope of practice as defined by the Georgia Nurse Practice Act.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the State of Georgia in good standing without limitations.
• Certified in American Heart Association’s Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS).
• Visual color acuity may be required depending on the role in specific units.

Preferred Qualifications

• Additional Life Support credentials (ACLS, PALS, NRP, etc.).
• Clinical specialty certifications relevant to specific units.
