Staff RN - Med Surg Ortho, Nights

About the role

Provides general nursing care to patients and families throughout the continuum of care in diverse, acute health care settings. The department operates 24/7/365 (Med Surg Ortho Unit 1). The RN is accountable for nursing practice as defined by the Ohio Board of Nursing, delegates tasks to LPNs and UAPs per the Ohio Nurse Practice Act, and provides professional nursing care services including assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating care for assigned patients.

Responsibilities

• Assessment/Diagnosis – Performs initial, ongoing, and functional health status assessment (30%).
• Outcomes Identification/Planning – Documents planned nursing interventions based on diagnoses and collaborative problems to achieve appropriate outcomes (30%).
• Implementation/Evaluation – Evaluates and documents response to interventions and outcome achievement at appropriate intervals; revises plan of care as part of a multidisciplinary team (20%).
• Leadership – Actively participates in process improvement activities to achieve clinical quality, customer satisfaction, and financial performance targets (10%).
• Operations – Supports department operations, focusing on safety, quality, and efficiency as a High Reliability Organization (10%).

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse license from the State of Ohio (or current RN license in good standing from a multi‑state compact state).
• BLS – Basic Life Support certification (American Heart Association).
• BSN required within 5 years of employment.

Schedule

Night shift, 36 scheduled weekly hours.
