Job Summary

The Registered Nurse leads the health care team, providing professional nursing care according to established standards and policies. They are expected to uphold organizational policies and demonstrate flexibility and leadership.

About the Role

Provides professional nursing care, utilizing the nursing process. Demonstrates proficiency in leadership, delegation, and problem-solving. Ensures patient safety and adherence to regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

• Serves as a leader of the health care team, delegating tasks appropriately and demonstrating accountability.
• Champions new ideas, participates in problem identification and resolution, and mentors others.
• Develops and implements individualized patient care plans, ensuring multidisciplinary collaboration and patient education.
• Maintains patient safety, monitors progress, revises plans as needed, and ensures optimal pain control and patient comfort.
• Documents accurately and efficiently, reflecting the nursing process and interventions.
• Communicates effectively with physicians and other healthcare team members, discussing patient findings and progress.
• Participates in performance improvement activities and shares responsibility for departmental goals.
• Adheres to workplace safety principles, applies standard precautions, and maintains a safe environment.
• Provides excellent customer service, answers call lights promptly, and ensures patient confidentiality.
• Acts as a resource, preceptor, and mentor, actively listens to patient and family needs, and ensures comprehension of discharge instructions.
• Supports a collaborative Labor-Management Partnership environment through unit-based teams.
• Organizes work to minimize overtime and identifies systems for improvement.
• Utilizes payroll and non-payroll resources effectively.

Requirements

• Minimum six (6) months of acute/sub-acute facility experience within the last three (3) years.
• Registered Nurse License (California).
• Basic Life Support certification.
• Basic arrhythmia knowledge.
