Responsibilities
- Coordinates professional nursing and individualized, family centered care to patients/families through the use of the nursing process and clinical skills in accordance with standards and hospital policies and procedures.
- On call responsibilities vary depending on department. Varied schedules to include weekend and holiday patterns.
- Conducts individualized age-specific patient/family assessments according to defined unit scope and nursing practice standards, appropriate collaborative problems (CPG's)/nursing diagnoses(ND's), or protocols.
- Admission Assessment: Collects and documents data related to patient’s individualized care.
- Shift Assessment/Reassessment: Performs reassessment based on unit standards, CPG's/ND's, protocols and changes in patient condition.
- Circulates in procedures following AORN guidelines/standards. Assists at bedside in preparing patient for each procedure.
- Develops individualized patient/family plan of care using CPG/ND’s, and practice guidelines/protocols to meet identified needs.
- Oversees that the nursing and interdisciplinary plan of care/goals are coordinated, implemented, evaluated, and revised as needed.
- Completes computerized documentation within established timeframes, including, but not limited to: Medication Administration Record, Allergies, Patient Information, etc.
- Completes and verifies accurate order entry in the computerized careplan.
- Ensures that discharge instructions clearly state patient care needs after discharge.
Requirements
- Associate's Degree from an accredited school of nursing Required or Bachelor's Degree from an accredited school of nursing Required.
- Minimum 1 year of RN experience Required and Experience with pediatric patients Preferred.
- BLS - Basic Life Support through the American Heart Association Upon Hire Required.
- PALS - Pediatric Advanced Life Support (except NICU) within 180 Days Required.
- NRP - Neonatal Resuscitation (NICU only) within 180 Days Required.
- AACLS within 9 months of hire (Cath Lab and ED only) Required.
- ENPC - Emergency Nursing Pediatric Certification (ED only) within 1 Year Required.
- TNCC - Trauma Nursing Core Course (ED only) within 1 Year Required.
- Radiology Nursing area: RNs will be trained in all areas of Radiology Nursing and will complete all required competencies.
Qualifications
- Education Qualifications: Associate's Degree from an accredited school of nursing Required or Bachelor's Degree from an accredited school of nursing Required.
Skills
- Must be able to perform a variety of duties, often changing from one task to another of a different nature, without loss of efficiency or composure, and be able to perform under stressful conditions when confronted with multiple requests, demonstrating prioritizing skills.

Schedule
7a-7:30pm with weekend and holiday rotation - 24hrs
