Staff Research Scientist, AdTech Product Innovation
Job Summary
We are seeking a Staff Research Scientist to join our New Initiatives team. This role involves generating product ideas, prototyping concepts, and shaping the story around new product launches.
About the role
This is not a traditional research role. It requires a blend of deep technical research, product intuition, and industry foresight. You will be expected to identify opportunities, build prototypes, and collaborate with various teams to bring ideas to market.
Responsibilities
- Generate Product Ideas
- Track the AdTech, programmatic, and LLM landscape to spot product opportunities
- Prototype Fast
- Turn raw ideas into working proof of concepts
- Own It End to End
- Take validated ideas from research prototype to production-ready systems
- Shape the Story
- Partner with product and marketing to translate technical work into launch narratives
- Stay Ahead of the Industry
- Maintain a deep understanding of AdTech, real-time bidding, and future trends
- Collaborate Cross-Functionally
- Work closely with research, engineering, product, and executive stakeholders
Requirements
- Master’s or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Statistics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field with 7+ years of experience in ML R&D
- Deep understanding of AdTech, programmatic advertising, and real-time bidding
- Track record of originating ideas and shipping products
- Strong technical expertise in PyTorch, transformers, and LLMs
- Experience building models for real-time, high-throughput systems
- Able to communicate technical work to non-technical audiences
- Bias to action and initiative
- Collaborative and communicative skills

Pay
- Bellevue: $200,000 - $270,000 USD Base Salary + Equity
- San Mateo: $220,000 - $300,000 USD Base Salary + Equity
Schedule
The position is based in either Bellevue, WA or San Mateo, CA with a hybrid schedule of 3 days in-office (Mon-Tue-Wed) and 2 days remote (Thu-Fri).
