About the role
The Quality function plays a critical role in ensuring product conformity, process excellence, regulatory compliance, and customer satisfaction throughout the entire product lifecycle—from supplier qualification through final product acceptance. We are seeking a Senior Quality Engineer to join our Quality Assurance team.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain and continuously improve the AS9100 Quality Management System (QMS), ensuring compliance with customer, regulatory, and company requirements.
- Plan and perform internal, supplier, and customer audits while driving corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Lead nonconformance management, root cause investigations, and corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) to support manufacturing and engineering activities.
- Collaborate with Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Program Management to resolve quality issues and improve product and process performance.
- Develop quality metrics, technical reports, risk assessments, and Management Review inputs.
- Support Supplier Quality activities, including supplier qualification, audits, source inspections, supplier performance monitoring, NCRs, SCARs, RMAs, and supplier quality documentation.
- Ensure compliance with AS9100 and customer quality requirements while supporting cross-functional quality initiatives.
- Support document control, engineering change implementation, and quality record management in accordance with the company's Quality Management System.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronic, Industrial, Manufacturing, Aerospace Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- 7+ years of professional experience in Supplier Quality, Manufacturing Quality, or Aerospace Quality.
- Previous experience within the aerospace or space industry.
- Demonstrated experience performing AS9100 Internal Audits and working within AS9100 Quality Management Systems.
- Experience working in ISO Class 7/8 cleanroom environments.
- Experience working in compliance with OSHA regulations, hazard identification, risk assessment, and Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) requirements within manufacturing and laboratory settings.
- Strong technical writing skills with the ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, manufacturing documentation, and workmanship standards.
- Strong knowledge of Root Cause Analysis methodologies, supplier quality management, and aerospace manufacturing processes.
- Knowledge of IPC-A-610, J-STD-001, and ESD control requirements.
Preferred Qualifications
- AS9100 Auditor certification or equivalent Quality Management System auditor qualification.
- Experience with aerospace manufacturing, including optical, electronic, electro-mechanical, or photonic assemblies.
- Experience supporting customer, regulatory, and third-party certification audits.
- Experience with supplier quality, supplier development, and source inspection activities.
- Spanish language proficiency is considered a plus.
