About the role
This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP) - a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific eligibility requirements per VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment.
Responsibilities
- Applies a wide range of professional psychological treatments and assessment methods to a variety of patient populations
- Provides a full range of therapeutic interventions for Veterans and other eligible patients through a variety of modalities including evidence-based practices and adjunctive interventions including but not necessarily limited to individual and group psychotherapy - family therapy - consultation - rehabilitation - and psycho-education
- Diagnoses mental disorders - and conducts psychological and/or cognitive function assessments and neuropsychological screenings
- Designs and implements effective treatment strategies
- Incorporates new clinical procedures when appropriate
- Provides professional advice and consultation in areas related to professional psychology and behavioral health
- Participates in evaluation of peers as part of the FPPE and OPPE review process
- Is responsible for timely completion of all clinical charting and documentation required by the Medical Center or healthcare system - as appropriate
Requirements
- At least two (2) years of experience as a professional psychologist - with at least one (1) year equivalent to the GS-12 grade level
- Must hold a full - current - and unrestricted license to practice psychology at the doctoral level in a State - Territory - or Commonwealth of the United States - or the District of Columbia

- Knowledge of - and ability to apply - professional psychological treatments to the full range of patient populations
- Ability to provide professional advice and consultation in areas related to professional psychology and behavioral health
- Demonstrated knowledge of clinical research literature

Benefits
Program Approval - award amount (up to $200,000) & eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after review of the EDRP application.
Former EDRP participants ineligible to apply.
Pay
The full performance level of this vacancy is GS-13
