About the Role
Ventura County Behavioral Health (VCBH) provides mental health and substance use treatment services as an integrated component of the Ventura County Health Care Agency. VCBH supports individuals and families in crisis, those considering suicide, or struggling with mental illness, substance use, or both. The department is committed to reducing stigma and discrimination and promotes wellness through a whole-person care approach, empowering clients and families with appropriate, accessible, timely, culturally sensitive, and collaborative behavioral health services.
This is a full-time, field-based position serving a caseload of 300 adult patients per 40-hour work week. The role involves adult intake sessions (60 minutes) and follow-up sessions (30 minutes), primarily serving county-based chronic patients. Spanish-speaking candidates are preferred.
Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system used: SmartCare.

Location
Ventura County is part of the Oxnard-Thousand Oaks-Ventura Metropolitan Statistical Area and is included in the Los Angeles-Long Beach Combined Statistical Area. It is the southernmost county along the California Central Coast, featuring diverse landscapes including coastal mountains, rugged wilderness, and uninhabited mountainous regions north of Highway 126. The county is bordered by the Santa Ynez, Topatopa, Piru, Santa Susana, Simi Hills, and Santa Monica Mountains.
