Staff Production Engineer
About the role
Partner with engineering teams to improve the reliability, scalability, and operational health of production systems.
Investigate and resolve complex production incidents, designing sustainable long-term solutions that improve platform resilience.
Design, build, and maintain software, infrastructure, and automation tools that enhance production operations and developer productivity.
Improve observability, monitoring, capacity planning, performance optimization, and operational readiness across services.
Develop high-quality production code while automating repetitive operational tasks and streamlining engineering workflows.
Participate in incident response activities, lead post-incident reviews, and drive continuous operational improvements.
Establish and promote engineering best practices that strengthen reliability, automation, and operational excellence across teams.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field (or equivalent combination of education and professional experience).
- Extensive professional experience developing and maintaining production software, with experience level aligned to senior or staff engineering responsibilities.
- Strong proficiency in one or more modern programming languages such as Go, Rust, Python, Java, C++, C#, or similar.
- Proven experience designing, operating, and troubleshooting large-scale distributed systems.
- Solid understanding of Linux systems, networking fundamentals, systems performance, and infrastructure reliability.
- Experience improving automation, observability, high availability, scalability, and operational efficiency.
- Able to influence technical direction and drive cross-functional initiatives without direct management authority.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
- Experience with Kubernetes, cloud infrastructure, distributed storage, databases, or large-scale service networking is a plus.
- Familiarity with AI-assisted software development tools and modern engineering productivity practices is highly valued.
