Staff Product Manager, Kafka Connect

About the role

We’re looking for a Staff Product Manager to join our Kafka Connect team at Confluent. This role involves contributing to the mission of building the world’s best data streaming platform, specifically focusing on the Enterprise feature portfolio, seamless integration between Kafka and external systems, and support for on-premise deployments and managed services in Confluent Cloud.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to the development of major product initiatives, from conception to growth strategy.
• Work closely with the field to develop and execute GTM initiatives.
• Act as the primary point of contact for customer success.
• Collaborate with engineering, design, sales, and marketing teams to craft a product strategy and roadmap.
• Ensure that all teams have the necessary resources to make informed decisions and build successful products.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience as a software product manager, preferably for an Enterprise technical product.
• Empathy for enterprise customers and a passion for solving their problems with software.
• Ability to craft a product strategy and roadmap in collaboration with customers, engineering, design, and go-to-market teams.
• Strong communication skills, including the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
• Strong technical competency, particularly with distributed data systems, public and private clouds, and stream processing.
• Experience with a modern integration platform is a plus.
• Experience with Enterprise software features such as security, networking, and observability is a plus.
• An MBA is a strong plus.
• A Bachelor's, Master’s, or Ph.D. in Computer Science or a related technical field.
