About This Role
We are seeking a Staff Product Manager to oversee Faire's data and ML platforms, ensuring they are reliable, trustworthy, and easy to use. This role involves running structured discovery sessions with engineers and data scientists, prioritizing investments, and driving adoption to improve user outcomes.
What You’ll Do
Own the path from ML idea to production, engaging with engineers and data scientists to prioritize investments in training, deployment, observability, and model registry.
Measure ML platform success through user outcomes like time saved, models shipped, and support load, focusing on strategic choices rather than process metrics.
Increase trust in Faire's core data by defining Service Level Agreements (SLAs), driving pipeline health, establishing data contracts, and advocating for quality investments.
Improve metadata quality, lineage, and discovery to enable teams to find, trust, and trace data, and implement access controls and compliance processes.
Build data products internal users need, such as fact and dimension tables, semantic layers, and reusable data products, with a focus on developer experience.
Establish a durable product-platform operating model with a published roadmap, clear intake process, adoption tracking, and platform cost and efficiency as a health metric.
Qualifications
8+ years of product management experience, with ownership of complex technical products at Staff or Lead scope.
Technical fluency across data and ML platforms, including direct experience with data and ML systems, engagement with engineering on architecture tradeoffs, understanding of modern ML in production, and ability to translate technical complexity into clear strategic choices.
Experience shipping platform products for internal technical users, including discovery, success metrics, adoption, and operational discipline.
Experience shipping in a marketplace or similar data-rich product context, understanding how upstream data and ML decisions impact conversion, relevance, and retention.
Cross-functional influence and strategic prioritization, including credibility with senior engineers and data scientists, negotiation skills, ruthless sequencing, and clarity about what the team chooses not to do.
Pay Range
San Francisco, CA and New York City, NY: The pay range for this role is $220,000 - $302,500 per year. Base pay will be determined based on permissible factors, including transferable skills, work experience, market demand, and primary work location. The base pay range provided is subject to change and may be modified in the future.
Workplace and Information Technology Positions
Hybrid employees currently go into the office 3 days per week on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and a third flex day of their choosing (Monday, Wednesday, or Friday). Additionally, hybrid in-office roles have the flexibility to work remotely up to 4 weeks per year. Specific Workplace and Information Technology positions may require onsite attendance 5 days per week as indicated in the job posting.
