About the role

The Staff Product Manager for Data Platform at Crunchbase will shape the strategy and roadmap for the platform that powers Crunchbase's core data assets. This role involves leading product direction for teams responsible for acquiring, managing, and delivering Crunchbase's core data assets. Key responsibilities include:

  • Defining and executing the product strategy and roadmap for Crunchbase's Data Platform.
  • Driving investments that improve the quality, coverage, freshness, reliability, and scalability of Crunchbase's core data assets.
  • Partnering closely with Engineering, Data Science, Sales, CS, Partnerships, and Legal teams to align platform capabilities with business priorities and customer needs.
  • Establishing metrics and feedback mechanisms to continuously measure and improve data quality, platform reliability, operational efficiency, and downstream product impact.
  • Collaborating with internal product teams to understand evolving data needs and enable the development of differentiated customer experiences across the Crunchbase platform.
  • Identifying opportunities to leverage emerging technologies, including AI and automation, to improve data acquisition, enrichment, validation, and platform operations.
  • Making thoughtful product tradeoffs across technical complexity, business value, and long-term platform health while aligning stakeholders around a shared strategy.
  • Measuring the success of platform investments through data quality, coverage, freshness, platform adoption, operational efficiency, customer impact, and business outcome metrics.

Requirements

To be considered for this role, candidates should have:

  • 5+ years of product management experience, with experience building data, platform, infrastructure, or other highly technical products.
  • A strong understanding of modern data platforms and concepts such as data ingestion, data quality, data modeling, governance, APIs, or platform services.
  • Experience balancing technical investments with customer and business needs, making thoughtful product tradeoffs that maximize long-term impact.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with experience using qualitative and quantitative insights to inform product decisions.
  • Experience defining success metrics and using data to measure product and platform performance.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence without direct authority and align teams around a shared vision.
  • Comfortable navigating ambiguity and breaking down complex technical problems into clear product strategies and execution plans.
  • A passion for building the foundational platforms and data capabilities that enable exceptional customer experiences.
  • Experience working with AI-powered products, data enrichment, or machine learning applications.
  • Familiarity with graph data, entity resolution, knowledge graphs, or large-scale business datasets.
  • Experience working on B2B SaaS, developer platforms, or data-intensive products.
  • Experience working with platform teams that enable multiple product teams across an organization.

Qualifications

Candidates should have:

  • A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Experience with Agile methodologies and software development processes.
  • Strong leadership and project management skills.
  • Experience with data management and analytics tools.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience with data visualization tools.

Pay

The salary range for this position is $193,552 - $227,120, with the possibility of equity in the form of stock options.

Schedule

This role is remote-first, with the option to occasionally work in-person in the approved states.
