Staff Platform Engineer

About the role

We’re hiring a Staff Platform Engineer to help build the core infrastructure that powers Percepta’s AI systems. This role sits at the intersection of customer deployments and platform architecture. You’ll work as part of a team embedded inside critical institutions, helping design and build the systems that allow AI agents to interact with real-world tools, services, and environments.

Responsibilities

• Build the core platform that enables AI agents to interact with external tools, services, and environments
• Design systems that orchestrate complex multi-step workflows driven by frontier models
• Work as part of Percepta teams embedded with customers to ship production AI systems
• Extract reusable abstractions and infrastructure from real deployments
• Design reliable interfaces between AI systems and distributed execution environments
• Rapidly prototype new architectures as we explore emerging patterns in AI infrastructure
• Contribute to the evolution of Mosaic, encoding new capabilities that accelerate future deployments

Requirements

• 6+ years building production backend systems or developer platforms
• Strong fundamentals in distributed systems, APIs, and service architecture
• Experience designing infrastructure that coordinates multiple services or execution environments
• Ability to work effectively in ambiguous problem spaces where patterns are still emerging
• High-agency mindset with strong communication and collaboration skills
• Deep curiosity about agentic workflows/abstractions

Qualifications

• Nice to have: Familiarity with workflow orchestration systems or task execution frameworks
• Experience building and maintaining developer platforms or internal infrastructure
• Experience working directly with customers or design partners
• Background in infrastructure, platform engineering, or distributed systems
