Staff Piping Designer

About the role

C&I is looking for a Staff Piping Designer to join our Plant Design team. This position involves developing equipment arrangements, creating piping layouts and 3D models, and leading small-sized projects.

Responsibilities

• Developing equipment arrangements utilizing vendor data and design criteria.
• Creating piping layouts and 3D models for complex systems independently using P&ID's, pipe specs, EAs, and vendor data.
• Performing field work at the plant, including climbing, walking, and working in adverse weather conditions.
• Leading small-sized projects (2-3 person teams) to meet project objectives: schedules, budgets, and quality.
• Developing piping design scopes, effort hour estimates, resource-loaded schedules, vendor print reviews, and inter-discipline coordination.

Requirements

• One of the following combinations of education and experience:
• A 2-year technical degree with a specialization in computer-aided drafting and design, along with a minimum of 15 years of related experience.
• A bachelor’s degree from an ABET-accredited engineering program with 13 years of relevant experience.
• Ability to travel domestically or internationally to offices, vendor shops, and project sites (up to 10%).
• Must comply with drug-free workplace requirements.
• Must be able to obtain a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) and pass any background checks.
• Must perform work in a safe manner in accordance with C&I and client requirements.
• Valid Driver’s License.

Qualifications that set you apart

• AutoCAD & CADWorx proficiency plus experience with laser scan.
• Primary experience working in Refinery & Petro/Chemical Industries.
• Prior Lead experience.
