Staff Physician - UTFP
About the Role
Provides medical leadership for the Department by assisting in the planning, development, and implementation of program goals and operations as outlined in the contract. Ensures compliance with all JCAHO/DNV and other regulatory agency guidelines. Contributes to the strategic plans of the organization for the growth and development of the department, specifically within Pediatric Infectious Disease Services.
This position is part of a team-based approach to care, where team members are trained to meet the highest level of function for their role per State of Tennessee/Georgia guidelines. Responsibilities include coordinating care for patients, supporting patients/families/caregivers in self-management and behavior change, and managing the practice's patient population. Participates in the practice's quality improvement process and performance evaluation.
Responsibilities
- Represent Pediatric Infectious Disease physicians and ensure the quality of care delivered is appropriate.
- Establish and implement written measures to achieve the goals of the Product Line.
- Assist in developing strategic plans for the growth of Pediatric Infectious Disease programs.
- Participate in the monthly chart review process for the Pediatric Nurse Practitioner and the annual review of nurse practitioner protocols.
- Perform other duties as reasonably requested by Erlanger or necessary to assist in the operations of Pediatric Infectious Disease Services.
- Ensure compliance with all JCAHO/DNV and other applicable regulatory agency guidelines.
- Attend at least 75% of quarterly medical staff meetings and any additional meetings as directed by the medical director or designee.
Requirements
- M.D. or D.O. degree.
- Completion of an approved residency and, if applicable, fellowship program.
- Licensed to practice in the State of Tennessee.
- Board Certification in practice specialty.
