Staff Physician

South Plains Rural Health Services (SPRHS) is seeking a compassionate and mission‑driven Staff Physician to join the team at Howard County Community Health Center in Big Spring, TX.

Responsibilities

• Provide high‑quality outpatient care aligned with your specialty.
• Develop patient‑centered care plans, including exams, diagnosis, and follow‑up.
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests in a cost‑effective manner.
• Coordinate referrals and ensure continuity of care.
• Participate in quality improvement efforts and staff meetings.
• Support public health efforts and patient education.
• Maintain eligibility to serve on local hospital medical staff.
• Supervise nurse practitioners (NPs).

Requirements

• MD or DO from an accredited medical school.
• Texas medical license (or ability to obtain).
• Board certified or board eligible in Family Practice.
• Current BLS certification.
• Commitment to health equity and community care.
• Ability to work well in a team‑based, multidisciplinary setting.
• Eligible to supervise mid‑level providers and serve on staff.
