Position Summary
Infusion for Health is seeking a dedicated and experienced Staff Pharmacist to join their Riverside Pharmacy team. This role is ideal for a pharmacist with a strong background in specialty pharmacy, infusion therapy, and patient-centered care.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure the safe, accurate, and compliant dispensing of medications, supplies, and infusion therapies.
- Maintain compliance with all applicable state and federal pharmacy laws, regulations, and accreditation standards.
- Provide medication counseling and clinical support to patients and healthcare providers.
- Review medication profiles for accuracy, appropriateness, and potential drug interactions.
- Supervise pharmacy technicians and pharmacy interns.
- Aid with recruiting, hiring, onboarding, training, and mentoring pharmacy staff.
- Support competency assessments and performance evaluations for pharmacy personnel.
- Monitor inventory levels, medication procurement, and cost-control initiatives.
- Participate in the development, implementation, and revision of pharmacy policies and procedures.
- Contribute to quality assurance, risk management, and performance improvement initiatives.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure exceptional patient care and operational excellence.
- Support all customer service efforts while maintaining the highest standards of professionalism and patient confidentiality.
Qualifications & Experience
- Current Pharmacist license in good standing with the applicable State Board of Pharmacy.
- Minimum of two (2) years of specialty pharmacy experience.
- Minimum of one (1) year of infusion, home infusion, or related pharmacy experience.
- Strong knowledge of medication counseling, inventory management, reimbursement processes, quality assurance, and regulatory compliance.
- Experience working with infusion medications, biologics, specialty therapies, and complex treatment regimens preferred.
- Ability to effectively coach, mentor, and supervise pharmacy personnel.
- Strong clinical judgment and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred
- Experience in an ambulatory infusion center, specialty infusion pharmacy, or home infusion setting.
- Knowledge of accreditation standards, including URAC, ACHC, and/or Joint Commission requirements.
- Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree.
Education & Licensure
- Graduate of an accredited School of Pharmacy.
- PharmD preferred.
- Current pharmacist license in good standing.
- Additional state licenses as required by business needs and applicable regulations.
- Training in aseptic technique and sterile compounding, if applicable.
Working Conditions
- Pharmacy, warehouse, and medication storage environments.
- General office setting.
- Frequent standing, walking, and computer use.
- May require handling medications, supplies, and inventory in accordance with safety standards.
