Responsibilities
- Collaborate with physicians, residents, and other healthcare professionals in the prescribing, preparation, dispensing, administration, and monitoring of medications.
- Adapt to evolving regulatory standards and ensure compliance with new professional requirements.
- Provide guidance and oversight to pharmacy technicians and direct support personnel.
- Assume essential responsibilities and perform duties of a pharmacy manager in their absence, including leadership and decision-making.
- Work independently with minimal supervision while adapting to changing workloads, interruptions, and emergency situations.
- Demonstrate critical thinking, excellent judgment, and expedited performance in high-pressure scenarios.
- Communicate effectively both orally and in writing with department staff, management, medical staff, and other health-system employees.
- Handle multiple priorities, interruptions, and shifting conditions in a fast-paced environment.
Qualifications
- Education: Pharm D required; advanced training such as a master’s degree or residency preferred.
- Experience: At least three (3) years of hospital-based or health-system-based experience preferred.
- Skills: Proficient in general data entry, excellent written and verbal communication, and demonstrated critical thinking.
- Certification/Registration: Current NYS Pharmacist License and Registration required.
Physical Requirements
- Demonstrates full anatomical range of motion to accomplish tasks.
- Visual and aural acuity, as well as finger and hand dexterity to operate computers and office equipment.
- Ability to sit, stand, or walk for long periods.
- Capable of carrying objects, pushing/pulling carts, and lifting up to 25 lbs.

- Environmental: Works in a clean, well-lit, heated, or ventilated facility with no routine exposure to hazards.
- Mental Demands: Ability to foster collaborative relationships, work under pressure, organize and synthesize information, and prioritize tasks. Requires critical thinking, analytical skills, flexibility, and multitasking in an environment with frequent interruptions.
- Schedule: May require irregular hours, including evenings or weekends, to participate in operational and community events as necessary.
- Remote/Hybrid Note: If operationally necessary, the position may require on-site work.
