Staff Pharmacist

About the role

The Staff Pharmacist at Evergreen Health provides education and counseling to patients and fills of patient prescriptions. They assist with training and management of pharmacy technicians and volunteer pharmacists, ensuring policies and protocols are followed.

Responsibilities

• Fills patient’s prescriptions and answers provider questions
• Provides counseling on both prescription medications and over-the-counter medications in accordance to APhA guidelines
• Provides exceptional customer service to all consumers
• Assists in medication ordering and maintenance of appropriate inventory controls within the pharmacy
• Assists in the procurement, storing and accounting of pharmaceuticals
• Counsels on drug utilization reviews as needed
• Manages rejected claims
• Provides troubleshooting functions for third party discrepancies and other prescription filling issues

Requirements

Qualified Candidate will be registered with current New York State Pharmacist license. Experience working within a retail pharmacy setting highly preferred. Experience serving specialty populations, including transgendered patients, highly preferred.

Qualifications

Candidate must demonstrate typing and counting accuracy, in addition to keen attention to detail, time management, and organizational skills; awareness of and sensitivity to the issues and health disparities faced by underserved populations is essential.

Skills

Knowledge of pharmacy practices and regulations, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, ability to work independently and as part of a team, strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
