Staff Pharmacist

Responsibilities

• Compounds and dispenses medications and pharmaceutical supplies to inpatients and outpatients upon receiving written prescription orders.
• Dispenses 750 IV admixtures daily.
• Dispenses 2,250 units of medications daily.
• Dispenses 200 outpatient prescriptions daily.
• Assists with the control of ordering, receiving, and storage of all pharmaceuticals within the department and the hospital.
• Supervises pharmacy operations in the absence of the Director or Technician Supervisor.
• Provides education to patients on the use of their medications.
• Makes active participation in clinical programs.

Qualifications

• Current licensure as a pharmacist in West Virginia.
• Current DEA registration.
• Experience in compounding and dispensing medications.
• Experience in IV admixtures.
• Experience in patient education and monitoring of medication administration.
