About the role
The Staff Pharmacist at Fagron is responsible for ensuring adherence to facility Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and federal regulations. They assist with investigations and perform daily operational pharmacy duties in the post-production and order fulfillment departments.
Responsibilities
- Execute opening and closing activities as needed.
- Ensure strict adherence to facility procedures.
- Identify trends or issues affecting batch production.
- Write and maintain operational and production SOPs.
- Liaise with aseptic operations and quality departments.
- Maintain compliance with state and federal regulatory agencies.
- Assist in documenting and completing Adverse Drug Event forms.
- Answer clinical questions and provide product information.
- Support order verification to ensure facility and product accuracy.
- Review and verify all batch records and associated documentation.
- Ensure safe work environments and enforce operational discipline.
- Understand the importance and impact of cGMP standards.
- Maintain state pharmacy licenses.
Requirements
- Maintain a pharmacist license in the state of Kansas in good standing and current.
- Obtain licensure in other states if required by state-specific regulatory obligations.
- Have 2+ years of pharmacy experience and a good understanding of quality and compliance requirements related to cGMP and 21 CFR 210 & 211.
- Prioritize experience with a manufacturing environment.
- Show proven effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Be proficient in using standard ERP/MRP systems.
- Have experience interpreting compliance requirements and regulations.
- Have knowledge of DEA, FDA, and state regulations pertaining to manufacturing and handling of controlled substances.
- Be capable of lifting up to 50 pounds, standing for extended periods, and have no allergies to chemicals used during compounding.
- Have the ability to read, analyze, and interpret scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents.
- Have the ability to respond to inquiries and complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.
- Have the ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Have the ability to interpret technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with abstract and concrete variables.
- Have the ability to establish robust processes, develop performance standards, track performance through fact-driven exercises, and implement solutions to drive continuous process improvements.
- Have the ability to solve complex problems in high-pressure situations requiring ingenuity, creativity, and innovation.
- Have the ability to exercise independent judgment, determine appropriate solutions, and take action in situations where precedent may not exist.
- Have a strong ability to adapt and be flexible in various high-pressure situations.
