Pay
The Target Pay Range for this position is $156,200.00-$190,800.00 annually. The full Pay Range is $121,200.00 - $225,800.00 annually. At BECU, compensation decisions are determined using factors such as relevant job-related skills, experience, and education or training. Should an offer for employment be made, we will consider individual qualifications. In addition to your salary, compensation incentives are available for the hired applicant. Incentives are performance based and targets vary by role.

Qualifications
- Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related discipline, or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum 7 years of related functional experience required, including Azure and cloud infrastructure environments.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in two or more disciplines, with emphasis on Cloud Computing and Infrastructure Services: Business Analysis, Business Intelligence, Cloud Computing, Unified Communications, Virtualization, Web and Application Development, Infrastructure Services: Enterprise Maintenance and Support, Infrastructure Support, Desktop and Client Support.
- Proven experience designing, configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting products and services and systems to production in a team environment.
- Technical focus in two or more of the following disciplines required: Microsoft Azure IaaS/PaaS, SaaS, Hypervisor, Enterprise SANs, Backups, Microsoft M365, Operating Systems, Hardware Solutions, Infrastructure-as-Code, or other modern enterprise infrastructure systems.
- Advanced experience optimizing, debugging using one or more scripting languages with preference for PowerShell and cloud automation.
- Advanced knowledge of agile methodologies and lean principles (e.g., Scrum, Kanban, Demos, Retrospectives, etc).
- Advanced knowledge in building and maintaining IaaS, PaaS, SaaS systems, including cloud-native environments.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate technical concepts, including cloud networking and infrastructure, to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience working in a distributed or hybrid team environment.
- Availability to travel occasionally (up to 10%) as required.
- Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced degree preferred.
- Strong expertise in Azure networking, including hub-and-spoke architecture, Virtual WAN, DNS, and routing.
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform.
- Experience with automation and pipeline development.
- Experience with CI/CD platforms such as Azure DevOps and GitHub Enterprise (GitHub Actions).
- Exposure to Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) or Kubernetes-based networking.
- Experience with ITIL practices and service management frameworks.
- Experience implementing governance, policy, and security controls at design time.
- Experience integrating security into cloud and infrastructure design.
- Microsoft Azure certifications such as AZ-104, AZ-700, AZ-500, and AZ-305.
What You’ll Do
Design Hybrid Cloud Infrastructure: Create and support bi-modal and hybrid infrastructure, including Azure networking solutions such as hub/spoke, Virtual WAN, VPN, and ExpressRoute.
Provide Azure Networking Expertise: Guide teams on Azure networking technologies including virtual networks, DNS, routing, and hybrid connectivity.
Define Architecture Standards: Establish and evolve cloud-native networking architectures and standards that scale with business needs.
Champion Secure Engineering Practices: Prepare teams to deliver products and services with a security-first mindset while aligning with compliance and regulatory requirements.
Drive Observability & Reliability: Enhance telemetry, monitoring, and diagnostics to improve platform reliability, availability, and operational insight.
Automate Infrastructure: Lead Infrastructure-as-Code initiatives using Terraform or similar tools and develop automation using scripting languages.
Build CI/CD Pipelines: Design and maintain deployment pipelines using Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions to streamline releases.
Analyze & Resolve Complex Issues: Use telemetry and trend analysis to identify gaps, troubleshoot issues, and optimize performance.
Create Technical Documentation: Develop and maintain process flows, dataflow diagrams, and network topology documentation.
Lead Engineering Excellence: Conduct advanced code reviews, build prototypes, and guide solution development.
Mentor & Coach Engineers: Support team members in growing their expertise in Azure networking, automation, and engineering best practices.
Implement Governance & Security Controls: Establish landing zones, policy guardrails, and governance frameworks to ensure safe and compliant environments.
Collaborate Across the Organization: Partner with architects, executives, and product teams to align technical solutions with business strategy.
Support Operations: Participate in on-call rotations and after-hours deployments to ensure system stability and performance.
