Staff Nurse (RN) - Acute Inpatient Rehabilitation

Responsibilities

• Manage and provide care to the patient and his/her family
• Direct and supervise nursing care provided by other members of the patient care team
• Assess, plan, implement, coordinate, delegate, and evaluate the nursing care of patients in alignment with the professional practice model
• Apply broad acute care skills, including tracheostomy management, wound care, intermittent catheterization, line and port management
• Utilize clinical skills in a variety of settings, including comprehensive rehab care for individuals with brain injury, spinal cord injury, and oncology diagnoses
• Work in a Magnet-recognized, CARF-accredited environment that prioritizes safety, teamwork, and continuous professional development

Requirements

• 2- year College Degree in Nursing from a CCNE (Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education) or Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) accredited nursing program is required.
• Bachelor’s degree in nursing with a major in Nursing from a CCNE (Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education) or Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) accredited nursing program is preferred.
• Current Ohio license or interim permit required.
• 2 years of experience in rehabilitation or acute care setting is preferred.

• Moves and transfers patients safely using appropriate equipment.
• Communicates effectively with patients, families, and interdisciplinary team members.
• Adheres to infection control policies and procedures.
• Uses critical thinking and problem-solving skills to address patient care issues.
• Participates in ongoing education and professional development opportunities.
