Staff Nurse NICU

About the role

The Staff Nurse provides specialized nursing care in a family‑centered approach within the NICU, demonstrating knowledge in biological, physical, behavioral, social, and nursing sciences.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and direct nursing care for individuals or groups of patients.
• Deliver care addressing physical, psychosocial, educational, and safety needs across all ages and developmental stages.
• Perform leadership duties, including mentoring and precepting new staff members.
• Ensure quality improvement, patient safety, and evidence‑based practices.
• Collaborate with healthcare providers to promote efficient operations, teamwork, and exceptional pediatric patient care.
• Utilize informatics and technology systems effectively.
• Adapt to temporary assignments across hospital units as needed.
• Support systems‑based practices and perform other related duties.

Qualifications and Skills

• BSN or enrollment within five years; RN licensure in Ohio.
• Current Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, organizational abilities, and customer service orientation.
• Experience in healthcare preferred; proficiency with Microsoft Office and electronic medical records (e.g., EPIC) is advantageous.
• Minimum of one year of relevant experience is preferred; leadership or supervisory experience is not required.

Schedule

Part‑time onsite role involving 24 hours weekly, primarily from 7:00 pm to 7:30 am, in a NICU setting.
