Staff Nurse NICU

About the role

The Staff Nurse provides specialized nursing care based on principles of biological, physical, behavioral, social, and nursing sciences, focusing on family-centered care for pediatric patients in a NICU setting.

Responsibilities

• Assessing, planning, implementing, evaluating, and directing patient care within their scope of practice.
• Delivering care that addresses physical, psychosocial, educational, and safety needs across all ages and developmental stages.
• Exercising leadership, mentoring new staff, and participating in staff education.
• Engaging in quality improvement, safety initiatives, and evidence-based practices.
• Supporting collaboration with provider staff to ensure efficient operations, high-quality care, and excellent customer service.
• Utilizing informatics and technology systems, including electronic medical records.
• Participating in system-based practice duties and other assigned tasks.

Qualifications and skills

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or obtaining it within five years.
• Current RN license in Ohio and Basic Life Support certification.
• Minimum of one year of healthcare experience preferred.
• Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work under pressure, prioritize tasks, and collaborate effectively.
• Experience with Microsoft Office and electronic medical records preferred.
