Staff Nurse - LPN (Licensed Practical Nurse)
Marklund is built on our mission of making everyday life possible for individuals with profound disabilities. Our services are designed to enhance the lives of our residents in a meaningful way. We are seeking dedicated Staff Nurses with an LPN license to join our diverse team in Elgin and be part of our life-changing mission.
About Us
Marklund is a nonprofit organization that provides residential, educational, and therapy services to infants, children, teens, and adults with serious and profound developmental disabilities and special healthcare needs. With two residential locations—the Marklund Hyde Center in Geneva and the Marklund Wasmond Center in Elgin—we are currently home to nearly 178 residents. The Marklund Day School offers Multi-Needs and Life Skills programs for children and young adults with multiple medical needs and those diagnosed on the autism spectrum. Our Community Day Services program at each site is a therapeutic day program for adults who reside at Marklund and those who come in from the community.
According to one of our nurses, Cass, Marklund stands apart from other facilities:
The reason I became a nurse was to help, nurture, and show love to other fellow beings who were in need, and I am able to live that dream at Marklund. What sets Marklund apart for me is the homelike setting as well as the client-staff ratio. I feel as though I'm providing care for someone in their home, which inspires me to keep care more personal. It's a very warm and inviting atmosphere, which makes me feel as if I'm going to my home away from home. Also, because of the working ratios, the quality of care provided is much higher, which is something you can feel proud of.
If you want to enrich the lives of others by something as small as a smile or gentle touch, Marklund is the place for you. If you like going home feeling that you received as much or more than you gave, Marklund is the place for you. If you like knowing you may be the one constant in someone's life, Marklund is the place for you.
