Staff Motion Designer, Design Innovation

For our client, a leader in the Consumer Technology space, we are seeking a Staff Motion Designer to join their team. This role will lead work at the intersection of data, AI-enabled capabilities, and scalable technology delivery, collaborating across engineering, product, operations, and business stakeholders to translate complex requirements into practical technology solutions.

Responsibilities

• Define and refine the company’s motion design language and guidelines across products
• Lead motion strategies for key experiences, enhancing clarity and usability
• Collaborate with cross-functional partners to unify motion across features
• Create high-quality design system contributions that enhance implementation consistency
• Prototype and validate motion concepts to drive decision-making efficiently
• Work with engineering teams to address complex technical animation challenges
• Develop tools and workflows to help teams efficiently create animations

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in motion design or closely related fields with a strong portfolio
• Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams and raise design quality
• Expertise in motion and interaction design principles, focusing on usability and trust
• Experience developing scalable motion systems and governance documentation
• Strong collaboration skills with engineers for implementing complex motion solutions
• Comfortable using technology for prototyping, including AI and coding tools
• Exceptional communication skills for articulating design rationale and aligning teams

Pay

$158,765 – $326,870 annually
