About the role
The Staff Mechanical Engineer will work on project teams to create world-class designs for new projects, alterations, and redevelopments across various sectors including power, process, corporate, healthcare, pipeline, airports, institutional, industrial, manufacturing, government, and military facilities.
Responsibilities
- Create mechanical designs from conceptual phases through completion.
- Adapt mechanical plans to meet budget constraints, design factors, or client needs.
- Design mechanical components based on project managers' requirements.
- Research and compile project-related data as needed.
- Update and review production drawings for a range of facilities including power plants, process facilities, industrial facilities, healthcare facilities, airports, educational institutions, commercial, and governmental and military facilities.
- Prepare and present information for client presentations, shop drawings reviews, and contract administration.
- Perform field inspections, measurements, and calculations for public and private clients.
- Contribute to field inspections, measurements, and calculations for public and private clients.
- Comply with all policies and standards.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field from an ABET-accredited program, with 3 years of mechanical engineering experience, consulting preferred.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or related Engineering Technology from an ABET-accredited program, with successful completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam, and 3 years of mechanical engineering experience, consulting preferred.
- Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, with 2 years of mechanical engineering experience, consulting preferred.
Qualifications
- Strong knowledge in standard engineering techniques and procedures.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated critical thinking and analytical skills.
- Proficient in standard engineering techniques and procedures.
- Strong computer skills (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite).
- Proficient in AutoCAD, BIM (Revit), 3D rendering programs, hydraulic analysis, and HVAC analysis programs.
- Strong attention to detail, facilitation, team building, collaboration, organization, and problem-solving skills.
- Engineers in Training-EIT Certification preferred.
