About the role
The Staff Mechanical Engineer will work on project teams to create world-class designs for new projects, alterations, and redevelopments across various sectors including power, process, corporate, healthcare, pipeline, airports, institutional, industrial, manufacturing, government, and military facilities.
Responsibilities
- Create mechanical designs from conceptual phase through design completion
- Adapt mechanical plans according to budget constraints, design factors, or client needs
- Design mechanical components for project needs and requirements
- Research and compile project-related data as required
- Update production drawings using multiple CAD-related software
- Prepare information for client presentations, shop drawing reviews, and contract administration
- Perform field inspections, measurements, or calculations for public and private clients
- Contribute to field inspections and collaborate with project teams
- Comply with all policies and standards
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field from an ABET-accredited program, with 3 years of mechanical engineering experience (consulting preferred)
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or related Engineering Technology from an ABET-accredited program, with successful completion of FE exam and 3 years of mechanical engineering experience (consulting preferred)
- Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering and 2 years of mechanical engineering experience (preferred)
- Strong knowledge in standard engineering techniques and procedures
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Proficient in standard engineering techniques and procedures, including AutoCAD, BIM (Revit), 3D rendering programs, hydraulic analysis, and HVAC analysis programs
- Strong attention to detail, facilitation, team building, collaboration, organization, and problem-solving skills
- Engineers in Training-EIT Certification preferred
