Staff Machine Learning Engineer - Generative AI

About the role

Lead Xometry's Generative AI team to develop and deploy large language and multimodal models for document processing and structured data extraction, build scalable data pipelines and training workflows, and deploy models in the cloud. Collaborate with engineering and product teams, mentor teammates, and shape the AI roadmap and best practices.

Requirements

• Experience with generative models, large language models (LLMs), transformers, GPT, vision‑language models (VLMs), computer vision, multimodal document processing, multimodal data (text, images, 3D), 3D data, and structured data extraction.
• Proficiency in Python, PyTorch, TensorFlow, pandas, NumPy.
• Strong foundation in probability, statistics, and optimization for generative modeling.
• Hands‑on experience with AWS, cloud microservice architecture, software engineering practices, object‑oriented programming, testing, version control, CI/CD, and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform).
• Ability to mentor teammates and work cross‑functionally.
• Manufacturing domain knowledge is a plus.
