Staff Information Security Engineer

About the role

The Application Security team ensures all eBay products are secured via optimized security processes and solutions. We need a hands-on senior Application Security Engineer with engineering experience to research, craft, and implement capabilities and defenses to secure and protect eBay's critical infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Perform Application security architecture, design reviews and assessments of eBay product solutions including AI / ML and LLM solutions
• Engineer and implement Application Security solutions using AI / LLM technologies as needed
• Develop scalable security management tools and processes
• Provide hands-on engineering support for security solutions
• Own processes for continuously fine-tuning security rules and processes for efficient detection and mitigation
• Review security findings/violations reports and coordinate remediation efforts
• Collaborate with peer InfoSec teams in security incident investigations, and drive the security charter across organizations

Requirements

• BSCS degree with 7-9 years of experience or an MS degree with 5+ years of experience
• 5+ years Application Security engineering experience or 5+ years Software Engineering experience including some Application Security experience
• Hands-on experience in performing Application Security architecture and design reviews including security incidents analysis
• Hands-on development experience in Java technologies, Web technologies and usage of AI / LLM related technologies
• Good understanding of OWASP top 10 vulnerabilities, as it relates to secure product development including AI / LLM technologies and their security implications
• Systems design experience and familiarity with Identity authentication and authorization concepts is a big plus
• Experience in containers, container orchestration technologies like Docker, Kubernetes is preferred
• Ability to clearly articulate issues and communicate with leadership and partner teams in an effective and personable manner
• Self-starter and Effective communicator
• Able to multi-task and thrive in a small team in a fast-paced environment

Qualifications

Additional Details The base pay range for this position is expected in the range below: $196,800 - $262,700 Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including location, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a target bonus and restricted stock units (as applicable) in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as PTO and parental leave).
