Staff II Accountant - Real Estate

About the role

The EisnerAmper Outsourced Services - Real Estate group is seeking a real estate accounting professional with expertise using Real Estate platforms such as Yardi, AppFolio and Intacct.

Responsibilities

• Make appropriate journal entries to record mortgage, payroll, utilities, management fees, property insurance and property taxes and other cash transactions
• Process vendor invoices
• Submit wires, ACHs, and internal bank transfers
• Prepare monthly billing statements
• Perform bank reconciliations (operating, security deposit, escrow accounts)
• Perform reconciliations of the balance sheet accounts
• Perform in-depth review of the income statement
• Prepare monthly financial statement package for ownership to include balance sheet, profit & loss statement, statement of cash flows (if applicable)
• Prepare quarterly financial reporting to fulfill lender compliance requirements
• Maintain related schedules (property insurance and taxes, compliance, etc.)
• Act as liaison to external auditors by explaining journal entries and financial transactions, provide research data and information as requested, and answer questions necessary to complete the audit in a timely manner
• Maintain job costing schedules and prepare construction draw packages
• Maintain task management and workpapers

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or related field
• 1+ years’ experience in property accounting managing multiple properties entities – commercial, residential, and new construction
• Knowledge of Sage Intacct, and/or Yardi

Preferred/Desired Qualifications

• Experience working with task management and workpaper system (Blackline, Floqast)
• Experience working with Appfolio and/or Avid Exchange
