Staff Geologist II

About the role

Verdantas is seeking a talented Staff Geologist II to join our team in Fort Worth, Texas. This position involves performing a variety of field tasks, preparing documentation, operating remediation systems, and assisting with regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities

• Perform field tasks, including data collection, measurements, and excavation observation
• Prepare field notes and related documentation in accordance with company standards
• Operate and maintain remediation systems
• Maintain Excel databases associated with regulatory compliance
• Absorb and prepare regulatory submittals, such as permit applications and plans
• Oversee well installations and soil borings
• Collections groundwater, soil, sediment, air, and surface water samples
• Enter collected data into report format using applicable software and company formatting guidelines
• Apply basic knowledge of federal, state, and local regulatory requirements and regulatory programs
• Absorb on-call emergency projects on occasion

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Geology, Chemistry, Environmental Engineering, or related discipline
• 0-2 years of relevant experience
• Ability to conduct fieldwork with some heavy lifting
• Proficient with MS Office suite of products
• 40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER training a plus
• Previous consulting experience is a plus

Qualifications

• Must have a valid driver's license
• Must have a personal vehicle for independent transportation to work sites

Pay

The starting salary for this position is $63,000.00 with final compensation determined based on qualifications and licensing status.
