Job Summary
Rippling is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to join our Time Off Products team. The ideal candidate will lead a team of engineers to build critical products that empower companies to manage their workforce on a global scale. The position is based in San Francisco, CA.
Responsibilities
- Build & Innovate: Write scalable code while driving the architecture of our most critical products.
- Set the Bar for Engineering Excellence: As a senior technical leader, you’ll set the standards for high-quality software.
- Lead Design & Architecture: Own and guide the technical design of new features, ensuring they’re both innovative and aligned with the company’s long-term goals.
- Mentor & Elevate the Team: Guide and mentor junior engineers, helping them grow technically and professionally.
- Drive Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other teams to prioritize and refine our product roadmap.
Requirements
- Experience: A minimum of 7 years of hands-on backend engineering experience using Python, Django, or similar technologies in building production-grade systems.
- Deep Technical Expertise: Strong computer science fundamentals with experience designing and optimizing complex systems that operate at scale.
- Product-Oriented Mindset: You care about more than just code—you understand the product, user experience, and design.
- Entrepreneurial Spirit: You thrive in ambiguous, fast-paced environments and are driven to identify and solve big, impactful problems.
- Leadership: You’ve led technical design discussions and collaborated cross-functionally to build robust, scalable systems.
Qualifications
- Experience with time off management systems and accruals rules engines.
- Strong understanding of cloud services and infrastructure.
- Experience with data infrastructure and scaling systems.

Pay
- The pay range for this role is: 189,000 - 315,000 USD per year (US Tier 1).
