About the role

We are looking for a Staff Full Stack Software Engineer to serve as a technical anchor for the Spotlight Listings and Agent Directory team. You will drive the architecture and delivery of experiences across web frontends, APIs, and supporting services, shaping premium listing experiences and agent discovery surfaces used by consumers. You will also build systems that create measurable value for real estate professionals.

Responsibilities

• Architectural Leadership: Own the end-to-end architecture of consumer web experiences and supporting backend services that power premium listing presentation, agent discovery, profile connections, and lead paths.
• Full-Stack Platform Thinking: Design cohesive systems across React/Next.js frontends, Node.js services, GraphQL and REST APIs, experimentation layers, and operational observability.
• Performance at Scale: Drive initiatives that improve Core Web Vitals, rendering performance, accessibility, resiliency, and software quality across key consumer-facing surfaces.
• Premium Experience Innovation: Partner with Product, Design, and Data to build experiences that make listings feel more differentiated and informative, and help consumers confidently choose homes and agents.
• Cross-Functional Influence: Work closely with partner teams across search, listing detail pages, profile systems, mobile, and platform services to align on integrations, rollout strategy, and long-term technical direction.
• Technical Leadership: Raise the bar through design reviews, code reviews, mentoring, and establishing reusable patterns and paved-road approaches for other teams.

Requirements

• Technical Mastery: 8+ years of software engineering experience, including deep experience building consumer-facing web applications and backend services at scale. Strong proficiency with TypeScript, React, modern web tooling, and backend technologies such as Node.js, GraphQL, and REST APIs.
• Systems Thinker: Comfortable designing end-to-end solutions that span UI architecture, APIs, services, experimentation, analytics, and cloud-native infrastructure. Ability to build for scale, reliability, and long-term evolution.
• Operational Excellence: Understanding of testing strategy, observability, CI/CD, and release quality. Commitment to building systems that are easy to operate and safe to change.
• Mentorship and Culture: Ability to raise the bar for engineers through technical leadership, clear communication, thoughtful collaboration, and a strong sense of ownership.
• Data-Driven: Comfortable partnering with Product and Data teams to run experiments, interpret results, and use evidence to improve user and business outcomes.

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
