Staff Firmware Engineer
Responsibilities
- Architect and develop embedded firmware components that execute real-time power regulation, protection, and control algorithms for SST operation.
- Own embedded bootloader architecture, embedded security, and common platforms.
- Lead firmware for power electronics embedded systems, ensuring functional and performance requirements are met.
- Work closely with hardware teams to integrate firmware with new or existing hardware components.
- Work with other talented engineers to solve complex problems, share knowledge, and ensure project milestones are met.
- Stay updated with new technologies, tools, and methodologies in embedded systems.
Qualifications
- Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, Mechatronics, etc. with 5+years of professional experience or combined equivalent experience with evidence of exceptional ability.
- Proficiency in C or C++ for embedded systems. Understanding of low-level programming and hardware interfacing.
- Experience with one or more IDEs and debugging tools.
- Experience with version control systems like Git.
- Knowledge of real-time programming concepts and real-time operating systems.
- Ability to write efficient code under resource constraints (memory, CPU).
- Experience with embedded system testing practices.
- Knowledge of digital and analog electronics.
- Ability to travel up to 20% including internationally.
Bonus Qualifications
- Experience in the domain of energy.
- Open source projects to represent the contribution to the community.
- Build and infra development for firmware projects.
- Building projects from scratch for startup environment.
