As a Staff Systems Engineer, you will be part of our Enterprise-wide digital transformation, leveraging Model-based Engineering, DevSecOps, and Agile practices to evolve how we deliver critical national defense products and capabilities.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with program IPT counterparts to develop supporting systems engineering and design artifacts.
- Work with both technical teams and stakeholders to develop and mature architecture content of large programs design.
- Help develop and incorporate the appropriate requirements for the system and ensure that they are properly represented in the model.
- Develop systems architecture using Cameo Enterprise Architecture (behavioral, structural, analytical).
- Contribute to system requirements development, management, and analysis.
- Develop unifying model techniques, procedures, and processes (for model development, tool integration, and team integration).
- Coach team members on developing the requirements, architecture, design, and implementation in the model.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Systems, Software, or related STEM field with 12 years of experience, or 9 years of experience with a Master’s (MS) degree, or 6 years with a STEM PhD.
- Subject matter expert in Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE).
- Experience serving as an Enterprise MBSE Lead, providing guidance and leadership on system engineering applications and methodologies.
- Proven ability to deliver MBSE direction and support to system engineering teams.
- Strong communication and coordination skills, enabling effective cross-organizational technical discussions to enhance system architectures.
- Demonstrated ability to define processes aimed at implementing MBSE and mission engineering principles.
- Proven experience presenting system architectures to customers and stakeholders.
- Strong experience with MBSE tools such as Cameo Enterprise Architecture to model large systems with multiple developers.
- Experience exporting documentation out of a model-based environment.
- Experience leading MBSE trainings and workshops for other systems engineers.
- A current/active U.S. Government Top Secret clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience leveraging MBSE to achieve strategic and operational outcomes in high-stakes environments.
- Experience with implementing System of Systems MBSE methodologies across multiple system models.
- Experience implementing MBSE system models across security enclaves.
- Experience as a manager for Systems and/or Cyber Systems engineers.
- Experience with NC3 systems and architectures.
- OCSMP certifications — Model Builder Fundamental and Model Builder Intermediate.
- INCOSE Systems Engineering Professional Primary Level.
Pay
The salary range for this position is $177,000.00 - $265,600.00. The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills, and current market conditions. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
