STAFF ENGINEER / STAFF ENVIRONMENTAL SCIENTIST
About the role
Broadbent & Associates, Inc. (Broadbent) of Elko, Nevada, is seeking an organized full-time Staff Engineer / Staff Environmental Scientist to work with a wide variety of environmental projects.
Responsibilities
- Support on a range of environmental projects including: Water & Wastewater monitoring and operations;
- Emergency Response;
- Phase 1 Environmental Site Assessments;
- soil and groundwater characterization;
- air sampling;
- remediation system operation and maintenance;
- lithologic logging and well construction monitoring;
- biological surveys and water resources activities.
You conduct field work to drive project execution and ensure that appropriate health and safety procedures are being followed. Your people skills are essential as you interact regularly with local clientele and contractors.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Geology, Biology, Civil Engineering or Environmental Engineering
- Zero to two years of environmental-related work experience
- Ability to work outdoors, traverse moderate terrain and lift up to 50 pounds
- Technical writing competency
- Strong technical and computer skills
- Self-starter, quick learner and effective communication skills
- Ability to travel
- Ability to work individually and as part of a team
- GIS experience a plus
