About The Team

The Business Systems Engineering team builds the software systems that keep 1X running. We work closely with manufacturing, operations, supply chain, and business teams to solve real-world problems and build tools that enable the company to scale. As a member of this team, you will design, develop, and operate the internal systems that support production, inventory, planning, procurement, and business operations across the company.

Key Outcomes

  • Deliver reliable production software that supports manufacturing, supply chain, inventory, and business operations across the company
  • Develop and maintain core ERP/MRP functionality that improves planning, execution, traceability, and operational visibility
  • Build scalable APIs, services, and data models that integrate systems across engineering, manufacturing, and business workflows
  • Improve system performance, reliability, observability, and deployment automation across business-critical applications
  • Partner closely with operations teams to identify workflow bottlenecks and deliver software solutions that create measurable business impact

Key Competencies

  • Strong full-stack software engineering skills with the ability to build and operate production systems end-to-end
  • Ability to translate ambiguous operational challenges into practical, maintainable software solutions
  • Strong systems thinking across applications, infrastructure, integrations, and business workflows
  • Ownership mindset with a focus on reliability, scalability, and long-term maintainability
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders

Minimum Requirements

  • 3+ years of professional software engineering experience building production systems
  • Strong experience developing full-stack applications using Python and modern JavaScript frameworks
  • Solid understanding of APIs, system architecture, and data modeling
  • Experience deploying, operating, and supporting production software systems
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS or GCP
  • Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD workflows
  • Understanding of system monitoring, observability, reliability, and production support
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-moving, evolving environment

Preferred Skills

  • Experience developing software for manufacturing, supply chain, or production operations
  • Familiarity with ERP, MRP, MES, or PLM systems and integrations
  • Experience building internal tools used by operations or business teams
  • Strong testing practices including unit, integration, and end-to-end testing
  • Experience with testing frameworks such as Cypress or React Testing Library
  • Experience designing and maintaining infrastructure, deployment pipelines, or DevOps tooling
