Staff Engineer - DevSecOps

About the role

For our client, we are seeking a Staff Engineer - DevSecOps to join the team of a leader in the Pharmaceuticals & Biotech space. This role will focus on strengthening secure software delivery practices across AI-assisted development and traditional engineering workflows. The position will partner closely with application, cloud, and security teams to identify vulnerabilities, improve controls, and respond effectively to security events in a regulated life sciences environment. You will also help shape practical security solutions that support both innovation and compliance. Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available.

Responsibilities

• Build AI-assisted development tools to enhance coding practices
• Design and improve security solutions, focusing on AI and traditional methodologies
• Identify security weaknesses and implement remediation strategies
• Collaborate with teams to enhance the security of applications and cloud infrastructure
• Investigate and address security incidents and events promptly
• Document findings from security assessments and escalate issues as necessary
• Monitor security logs for anomalies and potential threats

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related discipline with 7 years of experience, or a Master's degree with 5 years of experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
• Preferred cybersecurity certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CEH, OSCP, or GIAC
• Experience implementing cybersecurity tools and managing security controls in cloud environments
• Experience in IT Security or a similar infrastructure role, preferably as a technical lead
• Knowledge of regulatory compliance in biotech or pharma industries, including GxP and SOX, is preferred

Pay

$148,000 – $210,500 annually
