About the role

We are seeking a Staff Electrical Engineer to execute design efforts for treatment plant expansions, pump station rehabilitation, greenfield projects, electrical equipment replacements, and SCADA upgrade projects. The engineer in this role will work with project managers, senior and staff electrical engineers, designers, drafters, estimators, and other engineering disciplines to ensure project quality, budget, and schedule are met. Responsibilities

  • Design and specification of electrical systems associated with municipal and industrial drinking and wastewater pumping facilities and treatment plants, from conceptual phase through completion.
  • Prepare plans, specifications, cost estimates, and studies for complex projects.
  • Design electrical systems including low and medium-voltage power, lighting, SCADA and process controls, process instrumentation, voice/data networking, fiber optics, emergency power systems, UPS, security systems, CCTV, fire alarm, and commercial/industrial facility building systems.
  • Research and compile project-related data.
  • Apply knowledge of commonly used electrical engineering/design concepts, principles, practices, codes, and procedures within the electrical engineering services industry.
  • Perform studies for water and wastewater treatment electrical and control systems: power supply studies, short-circuit studies, coordination studies, and arc flash studies.
  • Perform field inspections, measurements, and calculations for public and private clients.
  • Provide construction administration support, including submittal review, procurement, response to Contractor’s requests for information, review and approval of change orders, and development of record of construction documents.
  • Collaborate with multi-disciplined teams across multiple office locations.
  • Develop proposals and technical memorandums.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related degree from an ABET-accredited program, and 3 years of electrical engineering experience required. EPC project experience preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical or related Engineering Technology from an ABET-accredited program and successful completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam, and 3 years of electrical engineering experience required. EPC project experience preferred.
  • Master's degree in Electrical Engineering and 2 years of electrical engineering experience required. EPC project experience preferred.
  • Strong knowledge in standard engineering techniques and procedures.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical equipment design, ANSI and IEEE Standards.
  • Strong computer skills (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated critical thinking skills, ability to work methodically and analytically in a quantitative problem-solving environment.
  • Strong attention to detail, facilitation, team-building, collaboration, organization, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to travel (25% of the time).

Pay

$125,000.00 - $175,000.00 yearly. The expected compensation range is based on individual education, qualifications, prior work experience, and work location. The total annual compensation package includes a base salary and eligibility to participate in a discretionary year-end incentive bonus program.
